Fatigue can make getting through the day seem unbearable and can even have negative effects on your fertility health. Men suffering from fatigue are at risk for low sperm count and poor sperm quality, while woman could experience an imbalance in their hormone levels. Here are five ways to help naturally fight fatigue to help you boost fertility health and feel better throughout the day.

Check for Health Problems

Fatigue is a common symptom of a variety of health problems and can be a side effect of some medications. Health concerns such as thryoid disease, anemia, heart disease, a number of illness and sleep apnea all could cause fatigue.  If feeling fatigued is unusual for you, talk with your doctor to check if your fatigue is the symptom of a  health issue or if it could be caused by medication.

Drink Up

Dehydration is a common cause of fatigue. Many people reach for a cup of coffee (or worse, energy drinks) when feeling tired throughout the day, but their body may just need some water for a midday pick me up. Drinking plenty of water will keep your body hydrated, improving fertility health and helping you feel more alert and focused throughout your entire day.

Take Breaks

Is your schedule packed full of things to do? Before you roll out of bed, is your to-do list for the day already wearing on you? Don’t forget to stop and take a break from your to-do list to help you feel re-energized and to reduce stress. Even just five minutes away from your daily tasks can make a difference in how you feel. Listen to music, sit outside or just stop for a few deep breaths. Aside from helping fight feelings of fatigue, taking breaks can reduce stress, helping reduce the negative impact stress has on fertility health (plus, it has been shown that taking breaks while completing tasks actually lead to more productivity!).

Exercise

Fitness is an excellent way to improve energy levels and help fight fatigue all day long. Sticking to a regular exercise routine often helps individuals maintain a healthy weight, which can lessen fatigue and improve fertility.

If you are feeling extremely tired, try going to a walk, do some stretching or yoga, or any other activity that gets your body moving for a healthy pick-me-up. Read our fitness tips and motivation.

Eat Right

Eating healthy not only fights fatigue, it improves fertility and all over health as well. When you are feeling tired, it may be tempting to reach for a candy bar or something else loaded with sugar, but those types of food are not the answer. Eating healthy, nutritious food supplies your body with everything it needs to feel energized without risking a “sugar crash” later. Read these fertility diet tips for men.
